Same thing happened Dave. I had the trace window on. I can exit the load method OK. The next thing is I'm back in the procedure which called the form in the first place and I get:

Error loading file - Control Source - record # 4. Alias "xxx" is not found.

"xxx" being the dbf I was trying to open and generated the error message in the first place. Record #4 is the first control which has its ControlSource a field from table xxx.
