Well, we can only hope that somebody knows and let's us know.

>>The rest of the interface is IMO counter-intuitive on a number of fronts. I know I can hook Outlook into it once it's installed, but when I try to do so, I get a fatal exception caused by MAPISP32.EXE. I've already tried the repair option from the setup. Do I have to un-install then re-install in order to get this work? I've searched the April MSDN KB and don't find anything that applies.

>>Lastly, when I sent a test message to myself yesterday, it failed to use my new mail notification sound (I got a ding rather than Clint Eastwood saying, "Go ahead! Make my day."< g >) Further, it blew out everything except the volume control in the system tray (Task Scheduler, Matrox QuickDesk, Local SQL Server). I'm very tempted to go from Win98SE to Win2KPro, but the fact that almost all my users are in Win95B, causes me a great deal of hesitation. Any thoughts here?

>I have tried using the Outlook "Notes provider" or whatever its called. All I had were problems including BSOD's. Outlook may or may not notify you of new mail in the Notes mailbox depending on its mood and the lunar cycle.

And the journey through the so-called help file provided this.

"To use another mail program

1. In Notes, choose File - Tools - User Preferences.
2. Click the Mail and News icon.
3. In the Mail program drop-down list, select other.
4. In the box directly below the Mail program box, type the full path name of the file that runs your mail program, or click Browse.
For example, if you wanted to use cc:Mail, type "C:\Program Files\ccMail\wmail.exe""

There is no File/Tools/User Preferences option. There is a File/Preferences/User Preferences option. From the dialog that brings up there is, indeed a Mail and News icon. The combo, however, does not have an "Other" option. Geez.

>I finally uninstalled the *$&$ thing and leave both Notes and Outlook open.

Unfortunately, if I can't hook Outlook up, there's no point in having it open.

Thanks for the feedback.
