>>I can't seem to get Word 6 to work with my VFP 3.0b mail merge table in Win95. Has anyone successfully worked with this combination of products? I was thinking maybe it had something to do with Word 6 being 16 bit and Win95 trying to use the 32-bit ODBC drivers that work for Word 7 and 97. It works fine on Win 3.1. Thanks for the feedback.

>Marcus, I don't think it's 16-bit vs 32-bit. More probably Word6 doesn't have drivers for VFP tables - just FP2.x drivers. Word6 was released a couple of years before VFP, remember. I just do a 'copy to' of the fields I need for the Mail Merge using the TYPE FoxPlus or TYPE Fox2x commands. Works fine.

Thank you Barbara. Actually the ODBC drivers included with VFP 3.0 are for 2.6 tables. It seems to work fine when using Windows 3.1, it's when I change to a Win95 machine that I have difficulties. What I noticed is that when installing my application to a Win95 machine, it installs something called ODBC32 with Foxpro drivers. When I install on a Windows 3.1 machine, it just installs ODBC (no 32). So my theory goes: Word 6.0 wants to use ODBC (no 32) and my application will only install the ODBC32 on a Win95 machine (through the setup wizard), but will install ODBC(no 32) on Windows 3.1. Do you (or anyone else) know if Word6 will use the ODBC32? I don't believe so. My problem then becomes How do I get my application to install the ODBC driver that Word6 needs on Win95? If the user has already installed an ODBC driver while setting up Word6, then I can certainly implement your technique for Fox 2.5 tables. Great suggestion! Thanks for your help.
Marcus.
