I've put an active X control in my form (MSCOMM Control 6.0)
to communicate via serial port to the modem.

Question:
1. How do overide those properties of MScomm active X control programmatically? (i.e. settings, handshaking, commport and etc.) These are properties
that can be set or configured during design time at the mscomm properties tab folders. I don't want to do this thing because this is a limitation to the application i'm doing. What i want is ,a form wherein the user can enter or input those values for the comm port, settings, handshaking and etc. from a combo box or textbox.

2. How do also trigger the OnComm event of this active X control programmatically when something comes from the serial port from time to time without attaching the active X control in my form?

Please help, I'm a little bit confuse already with this thing.

TIA.
