Yeah, I know, but it's a bit counter-intuitive. One thinks empty user content, hence the post.
>Just to expand on this, this is because when you assign some content to a general field, the field is filled with not only the content of the document, but a bunch of OLE information that VFP uses to know what sort of data it is, and what to use to open it. So when you clear out a Word document, the field still contains a Word document of sorts, it just contains an empty one.
