Yes I had done the same thing (receiving data from a scale.) Bottom line: build a VB COM for that task. With VFP, you have to use VFPCOM.BindData() to receive the OnComm() events and it wasn't reliable in my experiences. I've done the COM in VB in no time and it was working like a charm.
