Besides having the attorney write the letter, add a return reciept with signature so you will have proof that they got the letter.

Not sure how to prove that they removed the software though!

I have an associate who used to sell for me and is no longer selling and I know they have a copy of the software (which was given to them to allow them to demonstrate) and I want to instruct them to remove it. If I had a legal looking form I believe it would have more weight.
