I purchased it a while ago and have had mixed results with it. Sometimes it works great and sometimes users have problems setting it up. My strategy has been to use OLE controls for Outlook and Lotus Notes; NigelCoates' e-mail utility for other MAPI; and IDSmail for situations where nothing else seemed to work. Given IDS licensing costs (not huge but any money is money), this seemed to be a decent solution. If IDS can save you with just with 1 client it is worth the $300 or so for the 1st 100 users.

I am using IDS mainly for SMTP/POP mail, but when I switch to vfp 6.0 i will try Rick Strahl's wwwipstuff for POP mail.
