Mark, I don't get "Record out of range" error if the controlsource of the combobox, which displays the content of my local view, is set to blank. I get this error only if the controlsource is set.

The only solution I can come up with right now is to check if the view is not empty before setting the controlsource of the combobox. It seems odd that I have to do this.
