This is odd: this comes from the developer.hlp:

"Instead of using the Item property as shown, you can reference a formula field directly, for example, FormulaFieldDefinitions("ExampleFormula")".

Since, the FormulaFieldDefinitions collection is referenced with the Formulafieldsproperty in the report object, this seems a doc - error.

The best thing you can do, IMO, is to iterate trough all formulafields, get their names (.FormulaFieldName property) and synchronize them with VFP variable (in the same way I showed with the Parameterfields propery).

B.t.w. Are you using the formulafields to show a single value, or to change a formula ? If for a variable, the parameterfields are designed for this purpose.
