Which is built on the discussion of the API in his first book. You
need a copy of the first book, which covers a much broader range of the API, as well as core concepts required to use it. The Puzzlebooks (there are now two of them) address specific topics in the API that expand on what's covered in his Programmer's Guide. FWIW, I have all of them and read them.
