So, consider this a request for (real-experience-influenced) opinions. Like many Foxfolks out there, I played a little with the ActiveDocument approach when it was first release, and decided quickly to avoid it like the plague. But recently, I have been working on a project where the client simply loves the VFP GUI we have designed, but needs web access. We could re-write the thing, probably using Active Server Pages, and keep calling our middle layer business objects, but of course the client is balking a bit at our estimated cost. Given their needs, I am wondering if ActiveDocument is a quicker, cheaper option. Here's the deal -- they expect access from just a few dozen people, at branch offices across the NorthEast. They are willing to limit access to Windows machines running IE 5 or higher. And, they have no problem with a one-time download of the VFP run-times.

Has anyone used a VFP app as an Active Document for such a purpose? Any REAL-LIFE horror stories, success stories, etc.? Please keep in mind that we know this is NOT the ideal solution. But it's probably this or nothing, since we would turn down the lengthier solution for the price they want to pay. Is ActiveDocument EVER a viable solution?

Thanks in advance.
