I forget to make a full disclosure of the use of the word sugar in the south.

What I told you about southern men calling beautiful women sugar is True. It is a compliment. As David has also disclosed waitresses in the south call men sugar.... if they are past a certian age and have some grey hair. Again, it is a friendly fun kind of thing and is not, in most cases, any type of come on. It really is just a way to try and brighten someones day.

The term sugar is also used to describe the medical condition of diabetes. If you are in the south and hear someone say..... they have sugar... they are not describing a great love life.... they are telling you the person is diabetic.
