My wife and I were elated to drive an hour east of NOLA to enjoy them waffles rather than "enjoy" some of the native cajun food.

This is even more off topic than the current thread... Since I heard so many wonderful and romantic things about NOLA, I decided to take an extra week off and finally have a real honeymoon (stay in the french quarters, etc.). We couldn't have hated the place more - mostly run down, filthy, stinky, etc., just like going back to a small village in latin america (I've had enough of those, thank you very much), and yet, we had the most wonderful time. Guess the honeymoon thing was stronger than the smell of already-digested-food-on-the-sidewalk-Street (aka bourbon st.).
