Well it only looks like "goo" after you mash & drown it in maple syrup. Natively, it looks like a slab of processed crap that you slice off and fry < shiver > nasty stuff. Only saving grace in my memory of scrapple is that as a kid we had a great dane that loved the stuff... moping up the syrup mess on the kitchen floor when I got caught pawning it off on the dog was always much better than actually having to eat the stuff myself < bg >
