I'm assuming that the controlsource is set to the appropriate field of the parent table. If this is done correctly the displayvalue of the combo should display the appropriate text. In another word, the boundcolumn and the controlsource of the combo box dictates what is displayed.

Sorry for being so general, but I need more info from you for more specific hints. Example: is the combo bound to a parent table? etc...
