I don't understand the question - a .BMP is a variable sized binary data element; if you want to store the binary data in the data file, you'll want to specify the appropriate field type for whatever database you're using for the application - different data engines use differentfield types for thiskind of data. Without knowing what you're using, it chnges the answer.

You may find that storing the path of he file rather than rhe binary item would be more useful; many controls take a file path rather than the binary imagein a variable.
