I'm moderately impressed with 5.5. I don't know about the above problems, but 5.5 has fixed the year-long saga I've had of IE5 & 5.01 hanging on my 98SE machine. Big points for that.

However, final release 5.5 has lost all the blazing speed of the the very buggy early 5.5 beta, and seems only the same as IE5 in performance. (I'm sure there was a direct corrlation between the speed and the bugginess, of course).
