Hi Mark,

No, because I'm modifying a generic form which was developed by someone else. The client now wishes to see a list of courses [identified by course name] rather than a list of training records. The id field is used to invoke an edit form [which will contain a list of all training records associated with that course].
Regrettably, I'm unable to alter the structure of the tables to make this a proper one to many relationship.

The distinct still won't work, because the other fields in the select statement could differ from each other regardless of the value of the course field.
The id field is still required to call the edit form.
I'm still unclear as to how this can work ok in VFP and SQL Server but not in Oracle.
Best.
Matt.
