Thanks everyone for your suggestions. It appears the problem is a combination of things, related specifically to the Macromedia Flash Player. And guess what - I can't reinstall that plug-in because of the error. I've upgraded to IE 5.5 and changed the security settings for ActiveX, but no go. My "Favorites" folder appears to be corrupted as well. The interesting thing is that if someone else logs in on this workstation, they DON'T get the message.
