I would avoid the General field because of the close tie-in to the machine's OLE server for the filetype, as well as the tremendous additional storage needed when the data is stored in the field. If the picture is editable (possibly the only reason for the General field) the file is subject to tremendous bloat since the VFP engine will not re-use old freed blocks if a new image is added or an old image grows. Extracting the image from a General field back to a .BMP file is not permitted without user intervention. Also, at present there is no OLEDB server for VFP tables, making VFP relatively unattractive compared to something like the MSDE for ADO. It'd be tough to come up with a worse way to store .BMPS
