Check out the following MS KB articles:

Q151427 - deals with installing new services after service packs are installed
Q126401 - PagedPoolSize setting for memory not set correctly on NT Workstations
Q106167 - accessing shares on an NT machine causes the error

My guess would be the new service installation. To correct that, you have to reinstall the service pack.
