I have a VFP datalogger application that reads data from the COM ports of a PC and stores the data to a table.

I use the MSCOMM OLE control to handle the data flow at the ports and for most configurations everything works well. However with one data source (which is a relatively constant flow of data) it seems to work but occasionly, at random, bits of program/form methods are inserted into the data.

I would assume that the problem is one of configuration of the COM port except for the fact that I have a FoxPro DOS version of this application (that does not use MSCOMM obviously) that has worked perfectly for 10 years without any data corruption.

Anyone got any ideas as to what could be the problem

TIA
