I was told from Microsoft that my MCP status has expired. I thought I had 1 year from the time when the new exam was released to take the new one.
Here is what MS wrote:
Hello John,
Thank you for your email. We apologize for the confusion with your
certification status. Jason was mistake when he mentioned exam 70-156,
you took 70-054 to become certified and this exam has retired. As a
result your MCP certification has been revoked. As soon as you pass
another qualifying exam you will become an MCP once again.
If there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know. Thank
you for e-mailing us at MCP@msprograms.com.
Thank you,

Hello John,
Thank you for your inquiry regarding your certification. You will be
MCP certified until one year after the retirement of exam 70-156. You
will need to complete a replacement exam within one year in order to
remain certified.
If there is anything else we can do for you, please let us know. Thank
you for e-mailing us at MCP@msprograms.com.
Thank you,

I took the Programming in Microsoft Visual Foxpro 3.0
for Windows exam. That exam was retired in Nov.
1998. There was NO exam for version 5.0. There
is now an exam for version 6.0 which I am preparing to
take.
It was my understanding from Microsoft that my MCP
status would be in tact up to 1 year following the
release of exam 70-156 ( Designing and Implementing
Desktop Application with Microsoft Visual Foxpro 6.0)
Can you please clarify / verify my MCP status?
Regards,
John S. Huddleston
