Hmmmm...
Code is not bad for control..
Is your form is TOP-LEVEL and contain menu? The menu of top-level form can dynamicaly change name on form. my control save fullpath to grid object and store that in usergrid.dbf. Then If your form name will change control always will save new record in usergrid.dbf.

Maybe you dynamicaly change name of objects in path of grid object?
