PMFJI,
VFP framework is aimed for new comers as starting point in VFP language, and in order to achieve that so called VFP 6 slogan: "Build Now, Learn Later." In VFP 5, it's "Learn First, Build Later."
Here's what I can say on the 3 database stooges:
ACCESS - Easy to learn intended for easy applications. Aspiring Clerks to become ACCESS programmer is a big possibility.
VB - Easy to learn intended for complex applications. Don't worry on the syntax, VB will provide it for you. But in the latter part of app DLC, you will start worrying because it takes long to complete building the database application.
VFP - Harder to learn intended for both easy and complex applications. This data centric tool seems hard to learn at first but once you start getting to know it, you will start loving it.

CHARISMA simply means: "Be more concerned about making others feel good about themselves than you are in making them feel good about you."
