>>What I'd like to know is if there is a way to capture the events that happend in word back to vfp. For example, I know how to create a custom toolbar in word from vfp on the fly, then add a combo box to it, populate the combo box, make it visible in word, etc... but how can I capture events from that combo box BACK to vfp so that I can respond to them from vfp and the send results back to Word.

Can't say about Word 97/Windows 98, but you cannot really use VFPCOM and Excel 97/Windows 98. The most of Excel objects I was interested in were not publishing any events. In most cases ExportEvents() brings nothing.
But I know it works in Office 2000/Windows 2000.
