Just seems a shame that you have to go to such lengths to do these things. I've seen many sites with computers set up for visitors - & regularly people (especially teenage boys, for some reason) are playing with the operating system & screwing up the display for everyone.
I know Windows NT provides better security options, but quite often the cost is not acceptable (certainly not to the charity I'm working for).
Anyway, thanks for the help - I've got a prototype app. working (I was already playing with WM_STYLECHANGED & related messages - easy to change back to MoveWindow - I'd modified the prototype from a Win3.1 app I did a few years ago, which made windows move away when the mouse touched them - childish, but fun)
