I knew you didn't have to select the work area again, but I always do it any for readability purposes. I probably use SELECT a lot more than necessary, but it's nice when looking through the code to have such an obvious sign of what table the function is applying to.
As to the "->", I found in the Pro 6 tech ref a note about that. They do that to avoid confusion with macro termination and to avoid problems that will happen with the new version of foxpro with the class hierarchies. LOL! It's time to update the manual. I had to read that a couple of times to realize that paragraph must have been written right before VFP came out.
