But it can sometimes be better for reporting. If you can report on a
single table, rather than on a SELECT, then it may be faster. If you
have a JOIN from two tables, rather than seven, it will certainly be
faster.
I'm not saying that you should denormalize your data. Just that it may
be helpful to consider it.
