Hi Andrew,
Nothing against the MS VFP, I love them. But the VFP framework was written by development tool developers to demonstrate the features of their tool. The commercial (and public domain, I use Codebook) framework developers were created by business application developers to solve real-world business problems. This can result in significant differences.
The FFC has some cool things in it which I have incorporated into my framework. For more information, see the "Using the Shrink-wrapped Classes" in Markus Egger's "Advanced Object Oriented Programming with Visual FoxPro 6.0" (
www.hentzenwerke.com) The title is misleading. It is very readable for anyone with a modest understanding of VFP and deals with concepts that are important to understand for anyone wanting to use the tool.
HTH,
pamela
