First of all, I apologized for my previous answer. I'm using VFP 5.0 not 2.6.

I don't know how works 2.6 but in 3.0 or 5.0 the footer band would not be the place to put you field. The footer is printed only one time per page so you would see all your records. The detail band does the loop for you.
Also I just tried it and the "strech on overflow" checkbox is not enable for controls in the footer. So it printed only one line of the active record at the bottom of each page.

Someone already talked about FoxFire and Cristal Report as powerfull report designers, maybe you could try to find out if they work with Fox 2.6.
