Another "religious" war: which GUI: KDE or Gnome?
If you are running the latest versions of things, Gnome has gotten a lot more stable (RedHat 6.2, Gnome version???)
and ultimately it may be the bees knees of GUIs. KDE is much more stable right now, probably. However,
I've found Gnome is acceptible under RH6.2 I think that personal aesthetic preferences are most important
in making the decision. If you are running the most recent version of Gnome, stability is not as much of an issue.
I have many friends that run KDE and many that run Gnome. There isn't any one right answer, just religious
arguments over what's "best"! :-)
With RH, there is a utiltity called switchdesk that allows you to switch between KDE, Gnome, Afterstep
(Mac), and other desktops. Have you tried any of the other desktops besides KDE and Gnome?
In my opinion, as Jerry Kreps hinted:
the real answer is: EITHER.( kde or gnome), because it's not M$ Windows!
