It depends on your application. And it depends on your system architecture.
I use VFP for almost everything but its true strength is data-centric applications. I use VB for creating ActiveX components that wrap WinAPI functionality because it can handle sturtures and pointers far better than VFP.
In truth there is very little you can do in one that you can't do in the other and vice versa. Choosing one may depend more on your background.
