And there are Unix people who say that anyone using the Windows platform are insane, too. Java advocates insist that Java is the only language that has any real cross-platform support. And there are people who believe they were abducted by little green men from Mars. There are people who insist that there are supposedly mythological creatures that exist in the real world - the Loch Ness Monster, Santa Claus, honest lawyers, bug-free code...
I'd ignore uninformed, heavily biased opinions; both VB and VFP have a place in the development environment that don't completely overlap. If you feel that the VB programmers are right, go use VB and exclude VFP from consideration for developing applications. I guarentee you I can find just as many ways to break a VB app as I can find ways to bust VFP; it just takes a different approach to inviting the app to commit suicide.
