The grid does not 'exists' when textbox init runs - so this will give you an error.

thanks for your suggestions - but I was really looking for just a confirmation or comments on the particular bug (issue) - not a workaround. I have no problem getting around it. but thought it was strange behavior - especially since it works with an scx form.
