the appended record(s) go away.
What gives? On top of that, when I try to do the equivalent from a form with table buffering and TABLEUPDATE, not only does the record go away but I get a message saying that the index no longer matches.

Any ideas?

Larry, I have run into this problem before, and the file needed to be reindexed. Actually, if I recall correctly, I needed to delete the CDX and recreate the index.
