This is one of the few frustrating features of VFP. The paths to data get set in the forms as you work on them, and as long as the original directory is visible, the forms will use the stored path, no matter what you set path to. This persists in the executables, too. I found the simplest solution was to move the original directory (rename it to something else) whenever I wanted to work on another set of data. However, if you modify a form while working in another directory, the new path is stored. That can lead to all sorts of confusion! You can be looking at accounts, say, and call a picklist with another set of data, return to the form, which cannot retrieve the selected record because it isn't in the set the calling form sees.
