Let's take a look at Windows Color Schemes.

All controls have an BackColor property. In Win98, Right-click and Reset to default makes BackColor property=128,128,128. Why? Because Win98 color scheme rules.

The same control, edited in Win2000 have BackColor property=212,208,200. This is default backcolor in OS.

Now, if you change Desktop colour scheme (in win98 or win2000), backcolor property will change accordingly.

------------- All this, only if backcolor property is "Reset to default" -------

Now, suppose we are under win98, and go and modify manually BackColor Property to 128,128,128. Apparently, is the same thing, isn't it?

NO. Isn't the same thing. In this case, backcolor will remain 128,128,128 disregarding Desktop color scheme (I'm sorry for my english).

Visualy, if BackColor property is in bold characters in properties window, will stay as designed under any Desktop color scheme. If not, will follow Desktop color scheme.

Hope this helps.
