Our application was down for 3 hours last week because a few of the tables were corrupted. It took me a while to find the problem because the error message was not clear. We do reindexing and packing nightly. However, some of the table record sizes increase by thousands daily. I talked to my manager about the problem, he mentioned maybe we want to use SQL SERVER to handle our data. I heard people use SQL SERVER for different reasons. Could someone give me some ideas on when should I consider using SQL SERVER ? We are planning to convert our applications to Intranet very soon and we will move on to the internet. If we use SQL SERVER, what are some of the issues should I pay attention to ? I thank you for your time and your input.
