I got an application that use by several user (data entry). The client is on NT workstation and the server is NT server. 6 months later after the installation and excessive data entry from the user, new problem arise.


Several user often could not access a table (message : waiting for lock- take minutes to lock a table) when one of the user have open that table and release it. The application use views and locking mechanism for saving records.

Any Idea? Would it be because it was an NT issue where the server could not release it even though it was release by the current using user.

The VFP app is written in VFP6. It was set to reprocess at 4 seconds to perform a TABLEUPDATE.

IS there a mechanism in NT server to refresh it cache and verify that all files are release or in use?
