I see what you mean, I confess I have only glanced at the RI code.

My next thought was "well I could write my own RI code which has the behaviour I want".

Followed by another thought "What the hell I will do it the same way as everybody else" :)

Also what about the multilevel RI issues like Parent ---> Child ---> Grandchild where the Child ---> Grandchild is set to cascade. With deleted off how would the code ever see a deleted child record?
