I agree with Ed that you should redesign it to be 3-tier, and if done with distributed application architecture in mind, you'll be designing it for a stateless environment where NOTHING depends on certain tables being open, record pointers remaining positioned, etc.
When you get the call to turn it into a web front-end or move it to the .NET framework, you won't have to redesign it all over once again.
I highly recommend that you attend the Miami DEVCON in September, as there are many appropriate topics that will directly relate to your plans. As for the quick and easy port to VFP -- it doesn't exist. Might as well spend the voluminous time involved in making it work, doing the redesign instead.
