We are going to set up a web-based server and SQL server will be installed.
However, my boss would like to see through the test period, if the programs work fine, he will go to rent a lease line and get a "fixed" IP address.

So i would like to know how to configure the ODBC, since now i configure it as local host, if later the programs work fine, is it the only place i have to change ? the new IP address.

And I would also like to know the performance over a local phone line, since we are only a very small business, if lease line cost is very expensive to us. So if the local phone line perform OK, then maybe we will switch to local phone line with 2 modem and 2 phone lines in the SQL server's side.
