My pleasure. When I first started using VFP, it was the predecessor of "The Fundamentals" (Programming Visual FoxPro 3.0) that really made the light bulb go on for me ;-)

I guess all the bru-ha-ha was because I am one of the authors of "1001 Things". All of the people involved worked very hard to make the book as immediately useful as possible. Personally, I think that Andy's chapters on data (chapters 7 - 10) are brilliant. And I learned a lot from Rick's stuff on the report writer.
