PMFJI,
But late yesterday I came up with a similar problem to Jimmy here. I actually put a button on my form to tell me the readOnly status of the grid, a few columns, and even the textBoxes and comboBoxes contained in those columns. All of them say ReadOnly = .f.!
I'm creating the underlying cursor of the grid using CREATE CURSOR and INSERT INTO, and I verified that it truely IS read/write, as it should be. However, I can't edit ANYTHING in the grid.
Now, in mine, the readOnly status is changing as the user clicks edit, and saves and such. Do you think perhaps a strategically placed refresh would help? My thought is no, but just an idea.
