I saw this trick once in FoxPro Advisor. If you get a error message with the memo file when trying to complete a Pack. Open the table and add a field doesn't matter the name or type. Then click on Ok and save the changes. Then go back in and delete that field and save changes again and now you should be able to pack the table or database.

This has done wonders for us, we use Stonefield but that wouldn't repair the memo headers as well as this little trick.
