Further to my earlier query regarding this problem, thanks to those who replied!

I have not found a solution yet. I think that I have an odd error in that pictures "resolve" within forms, and if I 'doubleclick' on the file.jpg in explorer for instance, no problem, it comes up in whatever I tell it via the registry key, eg. imaging, photoshop psp3 etcetcetc. It is only when I try the APPEND GENERAL programatically that things go pear shaped and I get the unhelpful error message...

Any ideas guys???
