Jimmy,
Ed and Jess are correct about the EditBox, of course. However, editboxes inside grids have only very limited display areas. You might consider putting a 'show notes' button beside the grid instead of a column for the memo field. It would pop up a modal form with a larger editbox, and you could include the ability to add/edit/delete notes.
