AFAIK active directory only works on full win2000 networks. OTTNT1 is NT4

I am stealing this from Mark Minasi's book Mastering Windows 2000 Server. I think what you do is set up a user account on the first domain (the forest root), let's call it newuser (very original) then add newuser to the group Enterprise Administrators. Then, I think you can logon to a domain with newuser@ottnt1 or newuser@ott2. This is covered in the book starting with page 86.
